Make saving drafts easier for collaborators by including "save draft" in the top navigation bar or adding it as a sticky option that follows them so they don't have to scroll to the bottom of the page to save. This would be hugely helpful for longer email launchers, like events and webinars, that include multiple emails.
As a...Campaign Collaborator or Editor
I need to...
- Easily save drafts and campaigns and have the ability to exit the campaign editor without forgetting to save changes.
- Avoid having to scroll at the bottom of campaign input form.
- Avoid forgetting to save my data if I click on < Campaigns by mistake or by thinking that my changes would be saved.
So that I can...
- Have a better editing/saving experience.
- Avoid losing data.
Given: We can detect if a user has made changes to a campaign.
When: Leaving /saving campaign editor page.
Then:
User should have a persistent menu to save changes.
It should be transparent to the user that navigating away without saving will cancel changes.
Therefore add new options to the persistent top navigation and replace the "< Campaigns" with the following menu items based on the various possible scenarios:
For "Create New Campaign" "Edit Campaign Draft"
Submit (Go back to Campaign Dashboard + Toast Confirmation)
Save Draft (Stay on Page + Indicate save completed) (Toast??)
Cancel (Go back to Campaign Dashboard)
For Edit Campaign (previously submitted.
Submit (Go back to Campaign Dashboard + Toast Confirmation
Cancel (Go back to Campaign Dashboard)
Menu will be dynamic: save/submit buttons will be initially disabled until a change is detected, at which point save/submit buttons will be edited.

Test Instructions
Click anywhere to highlight clickable area.
Clicking anywhere on form simulates the user editing any field.
Test all 3 different scenario by starting over from Campaigns page and selecting a different campaign to edit: Edit Campaign (Do save draft option) / Edit Draft (with save draft option) / Edit Campaign with Approval (including approval banner in nav)
You can also see screens attached.
Looking forward to your feedback.
This improvement is lined up for the next release (planned for July) and have a new prototype that I'd like to share with you.
